Important Milestones

From a shed in the Abujhmarh foothills in 1985 to a multi-institution campus serving 200+ tribal villages — the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur has grown through decades of dedicated seva.

1985

  • 31 Mar42 acres at Narainpur received on lease from the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
  • 2 AugRamakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur started as a branch centre of Belur Math.

1986

  • 26 MarHospital (OPD) and Mobile Dispensary inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri Motilal Vora.
  • 2 JulVivekananda Vidyapeeth and Tribal Youth Training Centre started at Narainpur.

1989

  • 17 MayIndoor Hospital inaugurated, expanding free healthcare in Abujhmarh.

1990

  • 1 JulSchool, hostel, medical and fair-price complex started at Kachchapal.

1996

  • Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation Award for Excellence in Social Service.

2005

  • New Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna inaugurated on campus.

2009

  • Indira Gandhi National Integration Award conferred on the Mission.

2010

  • Swami Vivekananda Educational Complex inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

2012

  • Ramakrishna Mission Industrial Training Institute (ITI) started at Narainpur.

2015

  • ITI affiliated to NCVT; Model Residential Higher Secondary School inaugurated.

2016

  • Infosys Semi-Open Auditorium cum Indoor Stadium inaugurated.

2018

  • All India Tribal Youth Convention — 2,500 youths from 14 states participated.

2020

  • NEP 2020 Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) adopted; affiliation to Bastar University.

2024

  • FYUGP syllabus 2024–28 implemented across UG departments.

2026

  • Online admissions portal for session 2026–27; college website launched.
